‘Game Change’ Teaser

22 Dec

Did you like Recount? The HBO film about the 2001 election? Or how about Too Big To Fail, the HBO film about the 2008 financial crisis? Well, HBO sure loves making these movies, and today they unveiled the trailer for the latest one, Game Change, the story of how one simple farm girl grabbed the world by the balls and said, “Look at me GodDammnit! I am super cerialls.” Yes, the Sarah Palin story will finally be told, for all those who haven’t been alive for the past 3 years and missed it.  Check out the trailer below, although it doesn’t show much. I just hope they go for the whole, Palin- McCain sex in the office thing. That would be hot.

Spartacus Trailer Has Blood, Boobs

21 Dec

The trailer for the new season of Spartacus: Vengeance was released today, and like all good trailers, it features lots of gore and lots of side boobs. The best part? Towards the end some guy gets his face cut off. Now I have never seen this show, but with all the violence and nudity that seems to be its trademark, I may have to start.

Does anyone watch this show? Is it any good? Anyone really excited for the next season?

Spartacus premiers January 27th on Starz

Check out ‘Girls’

12 Dec

HBO is still in the news with the premiere of the trailer for its new comedy series Girls. From executive producer Judd Apatow comes the coming of age (maybe) comedy about a plain looking girl living in New York who may just be the voice of her generation (probably not). I’m very unimpressed by the trailer, but than again I doubt I am the primary audience here. I guess I will just say I am happy Apatow is producing comedies aimed towards intelligent women, because there really aren’t very many.

Girls premieres in April 2012

¡Rob! and Work It Previews

8 Dec

The Television Mid-Season is soon to be upon us, and today we take a look at what is sure to be the two worst comedies on television by the time February roles around. First up, from CBS we have the strangely titled ¡Rob! starring Rob Schnieder as a white guy who marries a Mexican woman and has to deal her crazy Mexican family. In the trailer you got immigration jokes, Siesta jokes, and to top it all off, Rob humping his new wife’s Grandmother in front of an altar! Oh! Seriously, this may actually stick around as it just takes every old sit com trope about marriages and puts some salsa on it.

Next, from ABC we have Work It, the worst television show I have ever seen, and I haven’t even seen it yet. It is Bosom Buddies without one of the charming actors in the world and the weird guy from Ghostbusters. Why did this show get a pilot? And how did that pilot get chosen out of all the other dozens that get made each year?

Because TV execs still think men in drag is funny, no matter how many lousy Big Momma’s House movies tank at the box office.

Despite being lower than the previous films (which both grossed over $100 million), Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son has been a box office success.
